Hopper trout Flies are generally an excellent fly to use when the daddy long legs flies are out. The hopper flies can also be used early season when the mayfly are on the surface of the water. However, do not disregard the hopper fly any time in the summer months as they will attract the trout to strike if they are floating dead like on the surface.
